What are the advantages of high-rate lithium batteries?
Jan 19, 2024
High-rate batteries usually refer to lithium-ion batteries, which are rechargeable high-rate batteries that mainly rely on lithium ions to move between the positive and negative electrodes to work. During the process of charging and discharging, Li+ is inserted and deintercalated back and forth between the two electrodes: when charging the battery, Li+ enters the negative electrode from the positive electrode through the electrolyte, and the negative electrode is rich in lithium, but when discharging, Li+ enters from the positive electrode. This kind of battery usually uses lithium-containing substances as electrodes and is a new type of high-performance battery.
During the fast charging process, in conventional large-capacity batteries, the precipitation of the negative electrode will accelerate the decline of its performance, and even cause a short circuit in the battery, causing fire and explosion. Most consumer applications only require 1 C batteries. If you want higher discharge speed and faster charging time, then high-rate batteries are the best choice.
High-rate performance advantages of lithium-ion batteries
① Good high-current discharge performance, strong explosive power, high discharge platform, and long cycle life;
② It has high energy density. Due to its low internal resistance, it has high charging rate and high output characteristics;
③ Provides a higher discharge multiple, up to 45℃, and has good temperature stability during the discharge process, which can be kept below 65℃ to avoid overheating and damage;
④ Ultra-thin, small in size and light in weight, it can process special-shaped batteries with different shapes and capacities, and its thickness can reach 0.45 mm.
