How To Choose The Correct Battery?
Oct 10, 2023
Batteries for electric bicycles generally use lead-acid batteries as the core power source. The quality of the battery directly affects the normal operation of the electric bicycle. Therefore, how to choose the battery has become the most important thing for every consumer.
◆Safety performance
Batteries with unqualified safety performance indicators are unacceptable, and the biggest impacts are explosion and leakage. The occurrence of explosions and leaks is mainly related to the internal pressure, structure, process design (such as safety valve failure) of the battery, and incorrect operations that should be prohibited.
◆Actual capacity
The actual capacity of the battery reflects the actual amount of electricity stored in the battery, expressed in ampere-hours (Ah). Similarly, the greater the ampere-hours, the greater the battery capacity and the longer the electric bicycle's driving range.
◆Internal resistance
The greater the internal resistance of the battery, the more energy the battery consumes and the lower its efficiency. A battery with a large internal resistance will heat up very much when charging, causing the temperature of the battery to rise sharply, which will have a great impact on both the battery and the charger. As the number of times the battery is used increases, the internal resistance of the battery will increase to varying degrees due to the consumption of electrolyte and the decrease in activity of chemical substances inside the battery. Batteries with poorer quality will increase faster.
◆Output power
The output power of the electric bicycle motor must match the rated power of the battery. Therefore, in order to extend the service life of the battery, the motor power of the electric bicycle should be as small as possible. Be careful of the battery working under full or overload conditions for a long time.
